COMMUNITY CLEAN ENERGY
PROGRAM (CCEP)

Communities Can Now Have a Say in Where Their Energy Comes From

Stewardship Utah has worked tirelessly with partners to help communities join the Community Clean Energy Program. Salt Lake City and 15 other Utah communities wanted more say in what gets built on the grid we all use. Working together, they created a way for residents and businesses to pool their purchasing power and support new renewable energy projects. Rocky Mountain Power is the utility partner in the CCEP, but the push to create this option came from Utah communities.

If you opened a letter from Rocky Mountain Power and wondered why there’s another charge headed for your power bill, that’s a fair question. And if you’ve spent years asking the utility to move faster on clean energy, it’s fair to ask why households are being asked to pay more to make it happen.
