HISTORY
Stewardship Utah was founded in 2024 when the Rural Utah Project and Oâ‚‚ Utah merged to form a powerhouse nonprofit. Together, we work to protect the land, air, water, and voting rights for all people in Utah through elections, policy, and democracy.
Stewardship Utah is a true blend of Oâ‚‚ Utah’s expertise in elections and policy in the urban corridor with the Rural Utah Project’s extensive experience organizing and registering voters in rural parts of the state — creating a comprehensive environmental and democratic effort representing all of Utah.

The Rural Utah Project's work continues on, and we're actively empowering underrepresented voters in rural areas through training, education, voter registration, and issue advocacy.
We believe that when we organize overlooked communities in our state, we're better able to ignite important conversations and create lifelong citizen advocates for Utah's future.
