FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Lieutenant Governor issued an emergency declaration this evening allowing voters in the county to cast their ballots electronically using the same system UOCAVA (military) voters already use. Voters who have an email in their voter record, and have not yet voted, will receive an email with their ballot tomorrow morning. Voters who do not receive an email can call the county clerk before 5:00 p.m on Election Day to request the accommodation (have their ballot emailed to them).

Vote right from your phone in minutes! Call 435-587-3223 ext. 4.

Electronic ballots must be returned by 8:00 pm. Polling places in Monument Valley, Navajo Mountain, and Montezuma Creek will still be open as usual. For more San Juan County Election locations and instructions, go here.

Flooding has had a huge impact for the past week, threatening the lives, homes, businesses, public infrastructure, and has caused severe damages to roadways, utilities and other infrastructure rendering those roadways and infrastructure unusable.

The vast geographic area of San Juan County including rural communities

requires traveling extensive distances between residential areas and polling and ballot drop box locations, and flood damage and emergency conditions have made access to the polling places and/or voting drop boxes extremely difficult or impossible, which is why this opportunity to vote right from your phone is so critical to spread the word about.
